Bass guitarist, composer and music educator based in Brisbane, Australia.
I make original music, teach creative musicianship, and work as a session bassist across a range of styles. My special interest is the role of the body in music making. This orients my research as a doctoral candidate and colours my teaching practice.
Discography
Out of My Hands (2025) is my latest release. It was produced alongside my doctoral research, but the music always came first. The record is kinetic, emotive, intense, and joyful. It draws on bass vocabulary developed during that period, anchored by crafted compositions and arrangements.
My debut album, The Life Electric (2011), presents a recurring theme in my music, blending improvised melodic play with dense digital production. On this early record, the palette is more lo-fi than it would later become. The album features guest performances from Andrew McNaughton (flugelhorn), Carl Morgan (guitar), Mark Henman (drums), and Daniel McGahan (vocals).

Bass Musicianship Accelerator:
A Bass Course preparing bassists for tertiary auditions—and beyond
This accelerator starts with the basics and gradually builds towards more demanding playing over the course of a year. Every ten-week unit steps the level up, leading to a final mock audition at the end of the program.
The course was designed from the ground up to prepare bassists hoping to study music at the tertiary level. This structure makes it suitable for any player wanting measurable improvement in technique, time, and musical clarity, whether or not they plan to audition.
